Staff

The strong and positive reputations of the Retina Imaging Centre among our patients is achieved in no small part by the care and compassion shown by our three permanent staff members supporting Dr. Uniat.

They are:

Colleen Sullivan – Ophthalmic assistant

Colleen spent her first 12 years working as an optometric assistant/technician with four different organizations in BC before moving to Edmonton in 2003. She worked for one year with another eye surgeon before joining Dr. Uniat’s staff in 2005. During this time, she gained experience of using the Zeiss Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) unit, and now is responsible for all the OCT testing of Dr. Uniat’s patients.

Marian Kwasnitza, RN — Retina vitreous nurse

Marian has worked in the opthalmology field for more than 30 years and is a member of CSORN (The Canadian Society of Ophthalmic Registered Nurses). Prior to joining Dr. Uniat's staff in 1995, Marian had spent 13 years working with a cataract cornea specialist and 4 years with a general ophthalmologist. Caring and compassionate with patients, she has developed a solid reputation for her ability to teach patients how to adapt to changing circumstances in their vision capability.

Mary Roy — Receptionist

Mary has 15 years experience as a medical secretary/receptionist, and is the person responsible for keeping the day to day operations moving to schedule. Like all the clinic's staff, Mary takes pains to be caring and courteous in providing help and assistance to all the clinic's clients.
